Thatched Inn
Grand Avenue, Hassocks
(01273) 842946

The Thatched Inn lies on the edge of Hassocks and Keymer and boasts some impressive views across open fields to the South Downs. Situated on a popular walkers route, it is a strategic place to stop and enjoy a pub meal at any time of the year. The inn was built in 1956 and has had only five tenants in its time. David and Leisa took over in November 2009 after working in the pub for 10 years. Together, they have firmly built up the pubs glowing reputation for good food, a friendly atmosphere and great value. It is now one of the best pubs in the area. The spacious and comfortable interior is traditional, with original beams and a roaring open fire-the perfect surroundings for perusing the eclectic menu. The Thatched Inn caters for differing tastes, offering a variety of traditional fayre as well as more contemporary dishes from around the world. The standard menu includes home made soups, a selection of starters, cajun chicken with spices and cream, and a selection of fish, steaks and ribs. The traditional Sunday lunches are a favourite with locals, and from the daily specials board you may find yourself tempted by fish pie, salmon and broccoli pasta bake, curries, roasts, vegetarian dishes or sausages and mash. Visit for a full meal, a snack and a pint of beer, or simply a morning coffee-you will not be disappointed.
Open: 11-230 6-9 every day.
